Imagine you and your close friends and family, skiing or snowboarding together, alone on a ski resort larger than the size of Deer Valley, Park City Mountain Resort, and Canyons combined–then throw in the combined terrain of Snowbird and Alta for good measure. Wide open un-tracked bowls and aspen glades of fresh Utah powder all to yourselves, all day. Fantasy? No, welcome to Park City Powder Cats and Heli-Ski, home to some of the most diverse and highest quality powder skiing and riding in North America.

Our private resort encompasses more than 40,000 acres of the Thousand Peaks Ranch, a privately owned sheep ranch in summer, turned into a powder hounds dream in winter. We have the exclusive rights to the use of this vast terrain, offering guided Snowcat skiing and snowboarding as well as privately booked Heli-Skiing. Park City Powder Cat & Heli-Ski’s staff of professionally trained Guides and Cat drivers will take you on an un-paralleled backcountry experience of a lifetime.

Park City Powder Cats and Heli-Ski has been operating at The Thousand Peaks Ranch, just 25 miles East of Park City for over 20 years. Under new ownership and management since 2004, the newly streamlined operation has enjoyed record number skier-days year upon year, while developing several thousand acres of new terrain, and a new fleet of state-of-the-art snow-cats that can take you to where only imaginations would think possible.

We immaculately maintain a fleet of three, 10 seat, Piston Bully 200 and 300 Snowcats that are fully heated, roomy and comfortable, allowing our guests to relax and socialize between runs while re-hydrating and snacking, in preparation for the next epic run. We run two to three 10 person cats a day guaranteeing you both fresh tracks and the solitude that only the Thousand Peaks Ranch can provide.
We also operate an additional grooming/work cat in off-hours, that meticulously maintains our roads and infra-structure . This means no waiting or lost time on deep pow days! No one else can say that.

Oh, yeah, the terrain and snow! Our tremendous amount of acreage allows us to guide you through an amazing amount of diverse mountain terrain that features huge open bowls and powder fields of all angles and aspects, as well as, arguably, the best aspen and fir tree skiing in North America. Our trees are so widely spaced that we say they get out of our way for us–truly an experience like no other.

Because of the sheer amount of skiable area we have , you are pretty much guaranteed fresh tracks even 2 weeks after a storm. With mountain aspects that favor strong weather patterns, we enjoy a bountiful helping of incredible Utah powder each year–in fact, over 500 inches of the goods fell out on the ranch last year.

Park City Powder Cats and Heli-Skis’ base of operations is located a short half hour drive away from Park City on well maintained and traffic free roads, just East of Oakley UT.

If you love powder skiing, or even if you have yet to experience it, this is the place. The terrrain, snow, staff, food and fellow skiers/boarders are first class. I’ve heli-skied in Salt Lake City and Revelstoke B.C. and this is hands down, the better overall experience. Yes, the scenery in Revelstoke is imcomparable, but riding in the cat is actually more relaxing between runs. You get to a chance recover between runs in a very comfortable enviroment. Have beeen here the past 5 seasons and plan to continue to do so. The staff are all very well trained, laid back and fun loving. This makes for a really unforgettable day.

Our group of ten, including 3 16 yr old boys, 5 men aged ~50, 1 man aged 38 and one woman aged ~50 had an excellent experience with Megan, Jason and Nick at PCPC. The snow has been fair/average in Utah, but this 43,000 acre private reserve was an extraordinary powder experience. It is an advanced skiing adventure and by no means appropriate for the beginner. We had 9-10 runs coming off nearly 11,000 foot peaks. The service was great, the staff extremely professional. Megan is a trained EMT (among a long list of other skills) and we just could not have felt any better about her and the rest of the staff. This is a 7-8 hour adventure that is well worth the begin investment. PCPC is highly recommended.

This is one of the best experiences I have ever had, not just skiing but in my 32 years. Ron the (owner/guide) Bob (guide) and ALL of the employees are the friendliest people and did an astounding job. Whether you are an intermediate skier or advance skier you will not be disappointed.

Starts off at 8:30 in the morning which is about a 30 minute drive to the property. Once you arrive they have breakfast, coffee, juices, snacks ect there awaiting your arrival. Once everyone is checked in they go over education and current conditions for the day. Once completed you get loaded up right away and off to a 30-45 minute ride onto the 42,000 acres of private property where everyone in the group introduces themselves and gets to know one another. When we arrived to the first stop the views and acreage was unbelievable. You would never think the terrain up there even existed. Huge mountain bowls everywhere you look. Every single run we skied was untracked powder. We took about 4 runs and stopped for about 30 min where they served lunch for all of us in the back country. They supplied everyone with gourmet sandwiches, amazing soups that were brought up from a local restaurant, chips, sodas, waters, granola bars and the list goes on and on. We ended up skiing 11 runs of the best snow I have skied in my life. I have been skiing for 28 years and have never experienced a day like this before in my life. It was amazing how once we all made a run the cat was either waiting for us at the bottom or was there within a few minutes. These guys/gals at PC Powder Cats have got this down! At the end of the day which was very depressing they had more snacks and drinks there awaiting us.

I am planning to buy their 3 pack sale they do in August and encouraging all of my friends/family to do the same so we can all experience it together. Words cannot express how thankful I am that a gem like this is so close to us. I would plan several trips here per year even if I lived in another state. People talk about the cat rides they do at ski resorts but there is absolutely no comparison in my opinion. I highly recommend anyone even thinking about it to go do it and bring everyone you know and I know you will not be disappointed. Anyways I can go on and on and will get some pics posted from our day. Thanks again PC Powder Cats YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Forgot to mention the terrain you ski that day is based off the level of the skiers in each cat so make sure to fill it up.

By far one of the best days i have had skiing. The guides we had bob and ron were great and knew the terrain really well and to every safety precousion for the terrain to
Make sure everyone was safe out there. I can’t wait to go back next year after a big storm and do it all over.
